Summer job or volunteering at hospital?

I just started thinking of what I wanted to do this summer. My schedule is pretty laid back with only sat studies, wrestling practices, and church. I'm looking into volunteering at UW medical center, but I could also find a menial job.
In terms of college apps, which of the two would you recommend?

here are some stats on me..

Do both? Can you find a job for 20-30 hours a week which would allow you to still do 10 hours a week volunteer work? It would demonstrate a great work ethic.

Yes, I agree with fauve. Most summer jobs do not require you to work really long hours. In fact, most of my friends with summer jobs (lifeguarding, retail, etc) work 20 hours a week max. You could definitely still volunteer a lot too and there will even be time left over for some fun and relaxing!

cool thanks guys!
ill look into getting a job too
