Summer Job vs. Internship

<p>Sorry if this is the wrong board, but it was the closest to what I'm asking. I am a current high school junior, and this summer I'm going to get a job. I also signed up for an internship in the fall, but it doesn't start until the 2nd semester, and I will have already sent in all my college applications by then. So the questions I have are:</p>

<ol>
<li><p>Does an internship carry any more weight than a job on a college application?</p></li>
<li><p>Would I be allowed to say I will be participating in an internship on my applications even though at that point I haven't yet?</p></li>
</ol>

<p>Before someone says it, I am interested in my internship, and I'm not just doing it to put on my application. I'm just curious how that would work out since it doesn't start until the 2nd semester and I don't exactly have stellar EC's.</p>

<li><p>Technically you should not since you have not been given the internship nor have you been through the experience.</p></li>
