Summer Job?

I'm really at loss for what to do right now. THe camp I was supposed to work at says they have no more positions and camps are pretty full by now. Even if they werent I dont know how much I would really wanna work at a camp. Now does anyone have some suggestions for a job I could get at this point? I also tried applying for a job at Score! but they never called me back, I tried calling them they said theyd call but they still never did. Im gonna just assume thats a no.

Thanks

Are there any local restaurants that need waitresses now? You could also attempt to find a position at a supermarket, as something like a cashier or person who shelves the goods.

I'm a guy btw :P

I work at a local supermarket... minimum wage but it sure as hell beats fast food.

Any other ideas?

Why is a job at a local supermarket better than a fast food restaurant? I'm just wondering. There doesn't seem to be a substantial difference to me.

I just got a job at the local YMCA summer camp. Walked in for an application, ended up getting offered a job on the spot..

:] I want to get a summer job. ^_^ Maybe I'll just volunteer to walk the dogs. :] Yes, I love dogs. :P

i'm working at a flower/gift shop

I know someone who is a helper with a garden supplier, one who works as a caterer (exceptional cook) and maintains his own business, several who are cashiers, some who work in bookstores, and even those who file books in the public library. A select few are able to work at the Clinic as research helpers on internship.

If I get a job this summer it might just be at the local supermarket, which is a good 3 minute walk from my front door. :)

After all, my two sisters and parents will probably be hogging our three cars since ALL FOUR OF THEM are working, too.

Dont ask me... I went somewhere to apply for a job and when I asked for an application the guy laughed at me... yea laughed... Then he wouldn't tell me why he was laughing... Jerk...
you can always get a job at fstfood... but it sucks

The supermarket isn't hot and smelly and greasy. And you don't interact with as many rushed, fat, evil people who don't even need fast food at the supermarket.

In addition the supermarket can pay well if one is a cashier (all of the markets in which students work here are upscale chains that pay a lot of money). And as princessbell said there are no major problems to deal with unless it involves credit cards. It is also the same reason why working in restaurants is not optimal; one must deal with older people who will be angered at everything, whether it is service that is not exact, food not cooked the correct way, and so on. I am glad that I myself don't live in a place like Indonesia, where people are trained to serve in cruise ship restaurants, which usually are the worst in terms of treatment by the passengers.
