Summer Jobs for Musicians

I know we have the stickied summer festival list. I am not sure that we have any similar summer music job list for the college students.

I have noticed a few opportunities that I sent to S, a jazz bassist, and he is looking, too. If this is a good place for a list of idea for summer work, let’s add to it. Ideas we have so far are as follows:

Play for Cirque du Soleil
Play on a cruise ship
Play at DisneyWorld/Land
Play at Dollywood
Blue Man group musician (not the blue guys, but the background guys)
Play on the road with the Glenn Miller Orchestra (one of S’s bass friends just started that gig)

More vague ideas that need refinement:
Play with a band in Vegas, Nashville, Branson
Other amusement parks

For the cruise ship you do need to be 21+

I would also add teaching in a Music Summer Program of which there are many.

Wedding season is all summer and Wedding gigs pay quite well. As my son found out he could earn as much as he earned working at Starbucks by doing wedding gigs all summer.

Also teaching and helping high school students prepare for their auditions and recordings. That can also pay well.

@StacJip - the minimum age for the cruise ship worker could be 21 in some cases and 18 in other cases. S will only be 20 y.o. by next summer.
