summer jobs

if you havnt made any money personally through summer jobs etc, does it look bad when you apply for aid?

No, I don’t think so. However, when you get a financial aid award there will almost certainly be in it an expectation that you will earn a certain amount toward your college costs each year. If you’ve never had a job, and as a high school senior you apply to a college and request financial aid, they will expect you to find summer work that summer between high school and college and contribute some amount of money. And every summer after, too, often raising the amount gradually that they expect you to earn over the summer.

But prior to applying for aid in the first place? No.

good to know, thanks :)
