summer jobs

thanks, slipstream. i actually had an interview at Papa Gino's today that went pretty well, keep your fingers crossed for me!

oooh...papa gino's. sounds exotic ;) Good luck!

haha oh it is! thanks! :)

Working at Starbucks (about $8 an hour) this summer & summer internship at UMD Center for Biosystems Research.

What would be a good first time (summer) job for a 16 year old?

For a 16 year old a quick way to earn some cash if your a guy is to be the pin up boy for NAMBLA's summer calender. I here you also get to meet a lot of nice guys.

i work at J. Crew

college2332- I would looooove to work at J Crew! Of course, I would be very poor and not own clothing from anywhere other from J Crew if I did work there.

I'm wokring at Gymboree this summer. :) Keeps me safe from buying out the store that I work in.

I'm having trouble finding a job because most places around here don't hire anyone under 16...and I'm 15 1/2 (birthday in November). :( I still haven't checked Borders or Barnes & Noble, so I really hope that works out. I'll probably try to get a job at Starbucks in the fall, though.

How would you apply? Do you just type up a resume on Word and hand it to the person behind the counter? Email? Call?

And for that matter--what would you put on your resume if you've never had a job besides babysitting and you don't have any real accomplishments?

if you work at J. Crew you can get discounts for 50% for six items a month and unlimited 30%

this years girl -- when i was 14, i worked at the local library and i was a caddy. it is harder to find things when you are not 16, but don't give up!

Too bad they pay their sweatshop workers less than 14 cents an hour.

McDonalds hires 15 year olds.

I wouldn't recommend it though, they prefer 15 year olds so they can give them crappy hours and crappy pay

Bank. I finally get to see what they really do with our money. ;)
