Summer Jobs

I'm looking for a summer job and it seems impossible. I'm away for a week for Buckeye Girls State, and then three more weeks to go to a class at a University on scholarship. I was going to work at a tutoring place, but they only have volunteers now. Any suggestions on how to find a job that isn't the whole summer?

Bump! Anyone?

I think you’re going to have a really hard time finding a paying job. But places that hire a lot of kids around me are amusement parks, fast food, and grocery stores. The thing is though, they may not want to hire you if you’re only going to work for them for a couple week, because they have o pay to train you and it might not be worth it from their stand point.

If you don’t need the money, I think volunteering would be a productive thing to do with your summer (at least that’s what I’m doing). You have some other stuff going on so, like I said, it’s going to be very difficult to find a job.

Fast food is not below you. Ever. A paying job is a paying job. Take what you can get; if you can even get it.

Put in applications as early as possible and be prepared to begin working right away. It’s not what they can do for you, it’s what YOU can do for them.

I’m already volunteering a bunch at my historical society and library… I don’t know if a fast food place would hire me for 6 or 7 weeks. But I’ll try… Also, how do people get jobs tutoring? I’d love to tutor kids over the summer, but my first job fell through.
