Hi, I have a friend who wants to be a lawyer and I'm tryign to help her find a summer law program for sophmore or junior summer in high school. If anyone knows any good summer law programs feel free to tell me please.

Me and your friend have the same aspirations then. Last summer I worked at a law firm and took 40 hours worth of courses at Emory Law School through a program called Law Preview. The program is for people who will be entering law school(most of whom are already accepted into law school, with the exception of maybe 2 who were in college) and it is a law school prep course. Each day, 9-5, there is one different legal subject covered(i.e criminal law, contract law, etc.). Visit there webstie at Law Preview - Law School Prep Course & Law School Preview Class.... However, I have been self-studying law for a long time now, and I was prepared for the course. So, if he/she doesn't have the experience i would recommend a program at stanford university called the American Legal Experience. Visit the website at http://www.educationunlimited.com/tomc/psi/ale.html....Particapants are taught by practicing lawyers and judges. Throughout the program various mock trials are conducted, among other programs such as courthouse visits. However, the only "real" way of experiencing law is getting a summer internship. I recommend that he/she call a bunch of law firms and ask for unpaid internships. I hope that helped. PM me if you have furhter questions.
