man, i thought everyone going to West Point would be like varsity football players who work out every day or something. at least that takes the pressure off me.

Hehe, not at all. I'm not ready either. I haven't really been running since track season ended. Oof. CFA will not be fun.

Qwertz, most people are probably just like you. I mean, as far as meI'm a kinda nerdy lookin guy who one day decided he wanted to go to West Point. I'm in decent shape, and am in track, but I'm more "student" than "athlete." I'm guessing most everyone at SLS will be like us.

But who knows, maybe I just found the two other people in the universe not prepared on this website... :D

haha im workin and im practice over summer and be fine but yeah, im gona look like a fool sun

are any of u guys gonna be arriving by plane at newark int airport? it would be sweet if we could meet up, and have some friends before we get to West Point

I'm flying in friday into Newark, then staying at a hotel that night just about a half-mile away. I think it's like a "Days Inn" or something. It would be cool if we could meet, but I don't know if it is going to be possible. PM me with your flight plans/hotel reservation info if you want to try to make it happen though!

Your never quite prepared. In less than 3 weeks I am going off to Beast and I FEEL unprepared! Lol, my pushups are actually getting worse it seems!!

Haha, uofmhopeful, don't worry. I'm a girl and I don't even think I can run 2 miles in a row. I can do like...10..situps and pushups or something. But really, this isn't the actual test to get into West Point or anything..soo yeah. It's not like it matters that much. And don't worry about being embarassed, it's not like these people were born running their little naked butts off. They had to work at it, and I'm sure if you and I do the same.. (later...waaay later) then it'll be the same result.

I guess I'll be seeing you in a few days.

::Edit::

I just read a few responses.. are you guys serious? Most people are up to bar for CFA? I've been sitting on my butt the last 6 months studying my eyes out..yea ok. Well if anyone wants to PM me, go ahead. I'm actually college visiting in New England before driving to Newark Saturday.

Oh yeah, do we need a fan? I'm in Connecticut right now and it's been raining all day and I'm still freezing. I only packed shorts + tshirts (Chicago was 85 F when I left) and I had to go shopping to get a sweatshirt.

yeah freakin aps and sat 2s and exams, no time to work out since basketball season

its insane

any1 feel me

Not at all, that really isnt an excuse. Theres been tons of kids, myself included, who can manage to workout and do well in school and SAT's. I know I'm being blunt but if you can't plan your days well enough to find the 20 minutes to go for a run and the 10 minutes to crank out a couple hundred situps/pushups how would you ever survive USMA?

Haha, you have a valid point for those that are set on USMA. However, to be fair, you have to realize that to some people that isn't as big a priority. For me I guess I would place grades, APs, research etc. above this level of fitness. I don't even think I'm going to apply to West Point. My parents just think this would be a good experience for me.

PS, are you serious? a couple hundred? Holy _____ -____-

haha hey buddy, i dont think were the kind of ppl that can do 100s of pushups and situps in 10 minutes... and if you can do that, afalcon and anyone else, then shame on you. haha jk, im in the same boat, and im ****ed.

btw, i wonder how the SLS week 1 is going... today was the last day that actually worked, and tomorrow, theyre home free.

alright session II people its almost our time, I figured it would take too long to PM people individually so I'll just ask everyone on here your name, where you're coming from, and what time your flight arrives at Newark if applicable. And hopefully we can all listen around for each other and maybe meet up while we're there

mumford maybe some of us are too busy gettin 2200+ on the sat and taking 7 aps all while running track and having practice everyday. not really my prioiroty at 6 pm when i got a crapload of work to do after practice to go find a bar and jump on it and start doing pullups. junior year is just a busy time is all im saying.

Hey. I'm in Newark right now using the computer in the hotel. Just thought I'd letcha all know. It's so wierd, going from Oregon to NJ. It actually feels like a similar climate, except the people are somehow... different. I dunno. A different culture. Anyway, see you guys tomorrow!

Alright, my info is:

Abhishek(most likely one of the few indians there)
Southeast Michigan
Arrival at Newark- 11:58 AM

Trust me, you can fit fitness stuff in your schedule. I do push-ups while my video games load, for example. It's no substitute for a good workout, but fitting stuff like that into your schedule and doing a decent workout will go a long way.

hey, i just got back from session 1 (4th platoon, 5th squad (sgt wichot!!!). PM me or type on here if you have any questions!!!
