Hi! i am currently a junior in high school and am thinking about what programs to do next summer (i know its early, but i really missed out last year). One program that i have found is the Senate page program and i think i would like it alot. My parents know the senator, and the state that i live in is very small, so i think i would have a relatively high chance of being selected. However, my dad is not really high on this program, he thinks that it is irrelevant at this point, and it would not help my college resume or be a very good experience in general. I would like some opinions from you guys on

-how prestigious is the program
-how impressive is it on a college application
-what impact, if any, does the house program being shut down have on all of this

My Dad thinks i should do somthing like Harvard summer school, or TASP...

Well although I am still learning about all the options for summer programs (I’m a junior too…) I just want to give you advice to do what you feel would be best for you. Although your parents are there to guide you, you should never apply for any program that you wouldn’t enjoy because you may be taking the place of someone who would love to.

From what I hear, RSI, MITES and TASP are all very prestigious. To help out some posters, what are you interested in? MITES and RSI are great for science/math directed students while TASP may not be the fit.
