<p>I just finished my first year of undergrad, and I was able to land a summer research position at my college. I will be able to do this again next summer, however, I just found out about a great summer volunteer program. It's community volunteering(not clinical), and would involve me traveling around the country all summer. </p>
<p>Do you think it will hurt my application to pass up a summer of research to do this volunteering? (I am still planning on doing research the summer between my junior and senior years)</p>
