Summer options

Hi,
I'm in a bit of quandary over what to do with my summer. I'm dedicating a few weeks toward college visits/apps as well as (hopefully) completing my Gold Award. I was recently accepted into an internship program to work for 80 hrs. at a local United Way office, doing various tasks (including writing and "client interaction"-not quite sure what that entals.) However, my second option is to take 1-2 CC classes. Last year, I took Italian, had a great professor, and did very well. This year, I am particularly excited about the option of taking medical terminology (it will be useful in both science and writing-I write stories with a lot of underlying medical themes) and coupling with another class (I'm thinking nutrition, but that could change). My parents are really pushing me toward the internship, but I could see myself doing either, really. Also, the internship would be free, but I would only have to pay half tutition at the CC.

What should I do?

Thanks.

I'm assuming that the 80 hrs can stretch throughout the summer, right? Ten hours per week would mean 8 weeks. This should leave you time to take a cc course, maybe two and work on your apps, and even visit a few colleges. It depends on the class schedule.

Yes, but the intership program is structured to last 4 weeks (something like June 8 to Joly 16).

Wolfpiper, I suggest seeing how your schedule works out. 80 hours over 4 weeks would be similar to 4-hour workdays, leaving you plenty of time to take classes at the CC.

Okay, so 20 hours per week, which comes to 4 hours per day; you could still take a class, depending on the schedule. And you certainly could do some college visits.
