First: For those that don't know orientation registration is available in Enrollment Pathway

Next: As a transfer student with an Associates Degree already, are there any reasons for me to really attend?

NJken, I would attend. Having an Associate degree is completely irrelevant to the summer orientation program. Besides, you will be paying for this program whether you attend or not. I am registering for session 10 which is strictly for Transfer students.

Are transfer Students allow to register for more than one summer orientation session? I registered for session 10 and a check never appeared in my Enrollment Pathway indicating that I was done registering, so I registered for another session (session 18) and was successful in registering for 2 summer orientation sessions.

The check doesn’t appear right away… I believe they email you a confirmation.

Hero, Im doing the 7/10 Session 10 orientation also. Anyone been on these know what its like? Can we drive/park down there?

Do we meet with academic counselors at this orientation?

thatsthekey, I received confirmation from both sessions.

magent311, after choosing session 10, does it appear as though you can still register for another additional session? Students will meet with academic counselors at this orientation since the STAR day is incorporated with this program…

Well you should choose one and email them to let them know you won’t be attending the other…there really is no reason to register for two even if it allows you to haha

haha what can I say, I just love long road trips and driving.

I registered for the 6/4 advising day, can i register for the 6/3 (two day) orientation as well ? or are they two different things ?

chey, the two day orientation purposely starts a day before the advising day for the students convenience. So yes register for the 6/3 orientation and stay the night, then attend that advising day as well.

thank you hero.

you know what hero, now that I think about it… I don’t think there will be a check mark until we actually attend the orientation.

thatsthekey, I have a check mark on my summer orientation only after I had registered for two different summer session. If you don’t have a check mark on yours even though you registered for a session, than maybe you should try to register for another one like I have. Do it and tell me what happens. If a check mark appears, then maybe they wanted transfers to register for the session for transfers ONLY and a session mixed with all the new students.

I only registered for one session, session 7 on June 29th, and I have a check mark on my pathway. But are we required to stay there that day and be there for the second day?

But are you a transfer student Fabled?? I’m trying to see if 2 session is encouraged concerning transfer students only.
Yes we are required to stay there that day, in fact, we have curfews during the program lol
The second day of the program is also a S.T.A.R. day so it would be smart to register for a star day that that is the same time as ur session, but if you choose not to sign for a STAR day that time, there is no need to stay the second day, but u still have to stay the nite of the first day.

I really don’t think you’re supposed to register for more than one… why would you need to go to two orientations?

Fabled - it does say in the FAQ that you are expected to stay the whole time. I’d rather not do an overnight since I’m living off campus, but I guess it’s part of the program! haha

thatsthekey, have you tried registering for two sessions yet??? It doesn’t matter whether we are supposed to register for only one, I really want to know if Transfers can register for 2 sessions. If not, then my enrollement pathway made an error, thats all i want to knoww

No, but it does let me go into the registration page… I’m sure it just allows you to register more than once in case you can’t attend the first one you pick.

“I’m sure it just allows you to register more than once in case you can’t attend the first one you pick.”- I like this theory but let’s be certain. Are there any first year students who are not transfers that registered for a summer orientation but are still allowed to go into the registration page? (the page that shows the session that are available).

I’m going to be a first-year student, but I can only choose 1 session. Just checked right now, and it won’t let me choose more, just says I’m registered for the 29th:

"You have already registered for a Summer Orientation.

Session 7: All First-Year Students starting on 6/29/2009."
