I’m really unaware of this Summer Program thing? How does it work? Does anyone know of a good CS Summer Program?

My whole summer is gonna be coding! Does anyone know of any internship at a tech giant in Mumbai? Thanks

theres this Brown University summer program as well, it is said to be reputed.

brown.edu/ce/pre-college/pc-apply.php

I’ll check this out :3

@Mrinal2207 Thanks for the suggestion. But how does this work? I just submit the application with all the details, and if I get selected, I go to the respective university for the course. So do I pay for all my expenses there? What are the estimated expenses & where do I live? Does is it help my application even if I’m applying to another college? At last, what all do they teach in the course, and how do I know what all courses they offer?

Guys, do you know of any other opportunities available in India itself?

@SevenAces Yes, you submit the application, and pay the deposit fee of around 300$ I think, and should you be selected you pay the program fees. They usually include your residential expenses along with your meals. Check it out at
[2012 Pre-College Program Fees | Brown University Office of Continuing Education](Pre-College Program | Brown University)

If anyones interested, USC also has a mean summer program At least the courses they have to offer are neat!
Forensic Psychology FTW :P

Check it [Summer@USC ? USC Summer Programs for high school students](http://summer.usc.edu/index.shtml)

@sevenaces, u pay the $65 application fee when u submit the online application.
Then, if u get selected, you will heave to pay the deposit fee $300 to secure u a seat and u select a course. The rest of the process is there on the website.
This program is rated more than EPGY for college admissions( that is, it is counted comparitive as CTY at JHU) and not everyone gets in. Also, summer@Brown’s admission offices are far more better than EPGY’s ( personal experience, waited 10 minutes on the phone to talk to a rep, when she answered, she said that the line was not clear and hung up leaving me a hefty phone bill).
The only problem is there is no finaid as compared to EPGY, even though the max. epgy finaid by epgy os $2200 leaving u to pay $3300.

But remember, getting in this summer program does not guaentee that u will get in at Brown.
Just enjoy and dont go :

Sorry for the various spelling errors and please don’t mind my grammer.
Hate typing on the phone…

@xNorth22 @Mrinal2207 Thank you very much for your suggestions!! But still a question remains unanswered, whether it helps my application? For instance, will Stanford be impressed to know that I was at a Summer Program from Brown…?

No, but it may show demonstrated intrest towards d school.
