Hey guys I was wondering if there was anything that I should do over the summer to make me stand out? So far I have research plans at Columbia with a professor, and am planning to take online courses in math and science. Is this enough? Or should I do things such as volunteer and build houses, schools, etc. around the world as well?
PS. Could you guys list some prestigious summer programs
I’m in the same dilemma. I was admitted to a residential research program in Texas, but I also want to take online AP courses to raise my GPA, and I can’t/won’t do both. And I kinda want to fit in some volunteer work here and there.
Are you a rising senior?
Most of the prestigious summer programs’ deadlines have already passed, but you can check out the summer programs thread for opportunities that are still accepting applicants.
AnEpicIndian, I am a rising senior. We are in a pretty similar situation lol. Why do you say that you can’t do the residential research program and the online AP courses? Also how and where are you planning to volunteer?
@Defuze Well, I just don’t think I can manage to commit to both activities and be able to make As AND succeed in my research at the same time. But I may reconsider. Still, I’ll be missing out on other opportunities.
I’m planning on volunteering at a summer camp at a local uni, but there are more to come.
I also need to prep for the ACT, as my January score wasn’t looking too good
