My question are - what can I do to prepare over the summer? Any recommended books to read, for ... AP Lang? What about review books - which ones for which courses? Money is no object.

I already have (feel free to suggest more books):

REA APUSH (not Crash Course)
The American Pageant (12th edition)
Barron's AP English (Lang and Lit)
The Scarlet Letter by Hawthorne (going to read for AP Lang)

A little background:

I now fully appreciate the value of prepping for a course over the summer.

Last summer, I woke up every morning at 8 AM and worked until 6 PM on pre-calculus for a month.

That was amazing. I have all As in pre-calculus and I haven't put more than 3 hours of studying into it all year. Needless to say, I wish to prepare for all my courses this way now :P.

seriously, do some push ups everyday and dont forget. if you’re body is not in shape, you get sick. take it from the girl who got a massive cold the day before the ap bio because she was studying for two weeks straight at home.

For AP Lang, or any reading/english course, Anna Karenina is a wonderful book. I’m doing a lot of summer reading for AP Lit and I really enjoy it. It is lengthy but a classic and very well written.
