We are going to be heading down to a preVU session in a couple of weeks. Are there any summer classes we might be able to take a look at. Ones which would in any way be representative?

And does Vanderbilt conduct interviews which have any impact on admission or just informational for students?

Anything else we might want to check out at this time of year?

We attended PreVu in June. It was a pretty full day so didnt look into sitting in on a class. There were plenty of students around, but I suspect most were grad or med or law students. Vandy doesn't conduct on-campus interviews, but you wil have time throughout the day to talk informally to the admissions people who are around during preVu. Have fun

The only advice I'd give on visiting campus and preVU days and things of that sort is to try to go in the fall if you can. I think that's the best time to visit campus because it is bustling and literally the amount of energy you feel on campus the first time you visit is something that made a huge impact on me. I know some families don't really have a choice and have to come when the time is right for their situation, etc. but if possible, I'd strongly recommend you visiting in the fall. And to add on to that recommendation, if you visit, try to catch something not included with the "planned" day the admissions office plans for you. The programming they do is great (esp the tours) but doing something not catered towards you would be a great way to see what Vanderbilt (or any college) is really like. Things I'd recommend are definitely a sporting event (preferbly football, basketball, or baseball for the best experience as a spectator), perhaps doing Dore-for-a-Day (relatively new program, replaced the "overnight hosting" program), or even just grabbing lunch or dinner at an eatery either on campus or close to campus just to see how the students are, see how the area is, etc
