Summer Progams

I posted this in response to a thread in MT under Summer Programs, thought some other Drama parents might be interested also.

Although I am new to this forum (My D is class of 2006) I thought I would mention a great summer boarding program my daughter attended in Austin. The program is the new Texas Art Project (TAP) in conjunction with a local highly regarded private school, St. Stepen's Episcopal School. The campus overlooks Austin and is a very safe upscale neighborhood.
St. Stephen's has a respected "theatre focus" program and has recently sent students to BFA programs in Ithaca, Evansville, SMU etc. In addition their Musical and Acting Directors have worked with various students from local high schools who recently entered in MT programs at Webster, CMU, AMDA, etc. I only know about friends of my D's so I am sure there many more. I know this year's crop are awaiting decisions from many very competitive programs.
This is the third year of the camp, and according to the brochures I have received in addition to the Acting, Dance and MT programs, they have added several new majors such as filmmaking, play/screenwriting, and technical theatre. They also have added a second shorter camp for younger students.
My daughter has had the opportunity to work with many of these professionals through other venues and cant wait until next year when she is old enough to be considered for an internship there. The link is:

Hope this is helpful for some of you trying find a great summer learning environment.

I went to Interlochen for seven years. If anyone cares, I know a lot about the place...it was an amazing experience.
