Summer Program Acceptances

Cap21. What's the deal on housing? You can't get into dorms until 6/24 but classes starts 6/24?

I've applied to IC's MT summer program. it's not that competitive...well I don't think so....but he emailed me saying we find out mid-April, in case anyone needed to know

Yay! My D has been accepted in the
Watermark Young Actors Ensemble 2007. It's a 5 week intensive training camp culminating in the production of a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's a Comedy of Errors.

A little history sidebar: This program is being sponsored by the oldest continually operating community theatre in the U.S. And, Dubose Heyward (Porgy) was intrumental in establishing the theatre in it's current location, an old cotton Gin built in the 1700's. Thomas Gibson (Dharma & Greg, Criminal Minds) is one of the more recent alumnus of this theatre.

Just in case anyone other than my daughter has been waiting to hear from CMU precollege, I want to report that I spoke with the people in the admissions office yesterday and it sounded as if some decisions are going out really soon. I am told that CMU precollege processes applications in the order in which they were received, so people who applied early will begin hearing soon, and so on. Good luck, everyone! I am told it's a great program.

My mom - being the typical nervous mother that she is - called CMU today to check on pre-college admissions. I sent my application in at the end of February, and apparently they had already processed it...

Drumroll...

They said I was in! I'm kind of afraid to believe it until I get a letter, but my mom says she asked three times if they were sure. So I guess anyone who sent in the application before the beginning of March ought to be able to call and find out.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

aww lucky!!! we called today and they still dont know :(

I'm going to CAP21 this year! I'm so excitedddd!

I got my letter!

Wheeeee!!!!!!!

Now I have to find some money...

My D will be going to OCU's Vocal Arts/Opera program and then stay for the second session of the Musical Theatre group!!!

My S will also attend the second session of the OCU MT program!

Hi justamom. Please add your info so that I can send you a PM and we can talk about OCU! Thanks!

justamom and Lulu'sMomma--Congrat's on acceptances to OCU Summer program-Did you just get your acceptance letters or were you informed earlier this Spring? We are anxiously awaiting our decision but just submitted our Application just after the March 15th deadline. Thanks

My S got his notification on 3/15.

Rejected from Emerson MT...

My D went to OCU last summer for the vocal program and MT workshop. She really enjoyed it.

This year as a Junior she was chosen to participate in the summer Governor's Honors program in GA, in voice. She must choose a minor to study as well. It will probably be theatre or theatre tech.

GH is a six week program for over 700 GA kids from a large variety of academic and artistic fields. All the kids have to be nominated by their teachers and then go through a statewide audition process. I think there are about 30 singers selected to go from throughout the state. It is held at Valdosta State in South GA, so it will be hot. But it is also totally free, so we are excited.

Hopefully it will be a great experience for her.

My daughter was quietly told at her audition but received the "official" letter on 1/15! She is sooo excited!

My D just received notice she has been accepted! We are doing a happy dance right now...

Back in March my D was accepted into the School of Performing Arts and Creative Experiences. It's a local, 3 week long program but the music director and Dance/acting director have both been on Broadway and have very impressive resumes. We knew the musical was going to be Guys and Dolls but we didn't know what part D would get. Yesterday she found out she got the part of Adelaide! she's so excited.

NanE...congrats to your daughter in being cast as Adelaide! That is a wonderful accomplishment. It sounds like her experience both with the show and with the program will be fruitful and exciting.

Congratulations to your daughter!Adelaide is such a fun role- she will have a ball!
