Summer Program AP/EA

How hard is it to get into the CMU ap/ea summer program (not the free one)?
Im just sent my application in and i was just wondering a few things.
1. How difficult is the program?
2. What did u do there and was it fun?
3. Does it really help your chances of getting in as an undergrad?

1: depends on the classes/program.
2: met cool ppl. and had alot of fun
3: not sure... although the admit rate is higher for ppl who went, it's probably because most ppl who go are generally more qualified (do you think ppl who aren't serious to some extent about academics are going to take classes over the summer?)

did u have alot of freedom when u were there? like were u able to do anything u wanted to like go into the city and do whatever.

how soon did u receive your acceptance letter? i just sent my application materials last week.

u can do whatever you want on campus or in the city when ur not in class, just be in before curfew 11pm weekday 12pm weekends(if i remember correctly) plently to do and they had events planned for us(dances, talent shows, etc)

the admissions rate is higher but its bc only ppl w/ exceptional stats get in anyway

the classes are like aps courses, but w/ college professors who are willing to help but wont spoon feed u information or make u come to class. not too hard

do u think i have a good chance for getting in with this:

SAT: 1870
Math:730
CR: 550
Writing: 590
GPA Unweighted: 3.81
Weighted: 4.25
Extra:
Know a bunch of programming languages (got a 5 on ap comp sci exam as a freshman)
Varsity Rugby
Soccer
President of Computer Club
Secretary of Honors Math Club
Created a website for a company

Essay: Excellent (had many people review and help me)
Teacher Recomendation letter: Most likely good (got them from Computer science and calculus teachers)

I put Advance programming and intro to electrical and computer engineering classes as the two classes i would like to take on the application

i sent my app, but I would like to know if if have a chance.
Do you think i will:
Defintely get in and no doubt
Good Chance
On the border between accept and reject
No chance at all.

good chance bc of ur computer experience, i kno all the computer people there had a lot of comp experience also, but ur cr and w scores are a little low. but since ur taking comp.eng classes, it shouldnt hurt u too much good luck

is it possible to get in to SCS as an undergrad with those stats??

I would raise the SAT score and you need SAT IIs to apply. If you score relatively well on those (SAT: 2000+ and SAT IIs: 700+) then I think you have a decent chance at admission. Also, if you go for APEA, you'll be able to apply EA and get a reply in october.

how soon did u get notified of being accepted? i sent in my application mid january.
Will it be march or even later??

bump.
When do you think i will be notified?

according to the carnegie mellon online thing, mine was sent on march 10.

To previous ap/ea students,
how soon after you applied did u find out whether you were accepted or rejected?
I sent mine in january so does that mean ill find out in march?
I m getting impatient so i just wanted to know.
