<p>Hey... After having thought in detail about my summer program options, I have narrowed it down to 2 programs. I would appreciate it if you guys could give your opinions on what summer program should I go for?</p>
<p>I am currently trying to decide between a 6 week intensiveresearch program at University of California - Santa Barbara
(<a href="http://www.summer.ucsb.edu/precolle...escription.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.summer.ucsb.edu/precolle...escription.html</a>)
and a 3 week nanotechonlogy program (classroom/lab combination) at
University of Pennsylvania (<a href="http://www.seas.upenn.edu/saast/)%5B/url%5D">http://www.seas.upenn.edu/saast/)</a>.</p>
<p>While I think the research program at UCSB is a better use of my
summer and will provide me with skills and a unique perspective on the
research subject, I am confused by the multitude of summer options
available to me. To make things worse, I have been getting conflicting
feedback indicating that I should not even bother with summer programs
since most of them don't have the same stringent admission process as
universities.</p>
<p>Which of the above two programs you think will be more enriching, etc.
I hope to do my Mechanical Engineering in college..</p>
<p>Thank you for any assistance and guidance.</p>
