Where are the best summer programs to study these two, especially an advanced study of graphic design?

I dont know what the best would be, but my daughter took Graphic Design
at Pratt, Manhattan and she loved it and found it very useful and she learned
a lot and put a great portfolio together this past summer. Maybe you need to consider what would be best as far as location and cost and dorming or
commuting and what would best suit you there, because as far as summer
programs go I think that pratt, RISD and some of the others are all great
and maybe you should consider the other factors to make your final decision.

Carnegie Mellon has a great pre-college summer program in graphic design.

My son attended Pratt last summer and had a wonderful experience. His major was photography and he loved it. Not only did his skills mature, but he made some wonderful contacts and completed several pieces that he used in his portfolio. (He also took advantage of their portfolio review at the end of the session and received very helpful feedback.)

The Art Institute of Chicago has an excellent Early College Sumer program. It's located right in the center of the beautiful downtown, a short walk from Millenium Park and a ton of museums. They offer 2 and 3 week sessions in photography (digital, b/w, etc) and Digital Imaging.

My daughter did summer programs at Otis and Pratt. Both were good. Most good schools have good summer programs. Check websites for what is available, and where in the country, how many weeks and check student portfolios. I would check RISD, Parsons, Art Center, etc.

I'm not sure, but I believe UPenn offers graphic design and photography in their summers for HS students.
