Hi everyone! I am thinking of doing a summer program at a college this summer, but I don't really know much about them. I am looking for a summer program that isn't too expensive where I can learn but have fun as well. For example I don't want to go to a camp where people just party. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been getting stuff in the mail about Vanderbilt PAVE and WashU but there are so many camps out there! Which ones are good? It would be great if I could get some suggestions because I have to decide soon!!! I am looking for a camp that is selective, educational yet fun, and not that expensive. Thanks so much!

Does anyone have any suggestions? This would really help me too. Thanks!!!

Are you looking for a specific subject in a camp, or some general enrichment courses?

Somewhere where I can take courses… like at a college. Thanks!

Google any of the colleges that you want to go to in the future, then “precollege”. If you take courses at a college you may want to attend in the future, it will help show your interest. Nearly every college has some sort of summer program for high school students.

What I would suggest is for you to go to a college where you may have an interest in applying someday. Even if those courses are not very selective, it would be a good way for you to show interest. It would help with your essay “Why college X.”

Not just to show interest but it also will help you in rule out certain colleges based on your experience there. For example, my friend’s D applied to Brown summer program, eventhough she really liked her time there she didn’t applying to Brown. She is now at Northwestern.

^Very true.

Thanks SO much! I’m thinking of going to college in the Northeast region. I know that all the Ivies are there and they have summer programs, but other than those, are there any other precollege programs that are prestigious but not that expensive? Thanks so much guys for your help! I really appreciate it! =)
