<p>I just got accepted to the Education Program for Gifted Youth's Summer
Institute at Stanford. Does anyone know if attending this program will significantly increase my chances of being accepted at top universities?</p>

<p>no -- if you do some reading on these forums, the general consensus is that attending these summer programs does not give you a boost in admissions.</p>
<p>It does, however, look better than saying that you sat around the pool all summer applying tanning lotion.</p>
