I have been deferred by a selective summer math program, and will get a result in early May about whether I get to go.
However, by this decision being delayed, our family cannot plan our trip to visit relatives abroad.
It is relatively important that we visit our relatives this year. However, I really want to go to this summer program (and I think I'll be accepted in the second round of considerations). Going to this camp would shorten our visit to under two weeks, making it very hectic (and not really worthwhile).
I'm a freshman, so I can go to said camp next year. However, I was planning to use my next summer to work on a science fair project. So I'm debating whether I should swap plans for each summer or try to work around the dates of said summer program.
I've put in a lot of time into the application to get into this summer program. However, there's nothing stopping me from applying next year (except the fact that it'll take a lot of time AGAIN)...
Any thoughts?
