summer program

is it good?

im trying to decide between taking courses at usc and taking courses at ucla

can someone tell me why usc would be better than ucla?

thanks =)

Well, taking summer courses at either school shows interest in that school, which increases your chances of admissions a bit. So if you want to go to one of the schools, you may want to take the summer program at it.

I went to USC last summer and I still consider it the best month of my life haha the course is a little work but the weekends are fun and I am still really close with my roommate and some other people from there....I recommened it 100%

...one of my friends went to the UCLA program and said it was fun...she was probably lying :] just kidding

Okay, first of all, USC offers a heck of a lot more courses for their summer seminar. I would recommend it just for how great it was (I took Intro to Video Game Design). Though the dorms are not exactly top of the line, the Campus life is great. The food was even okay. Now they technically said it doesn't officially help you with admissions... but I do now have a USC student ID card, and therefore am in their system and all. So it certainly can't hurt. Plus you could get a recommendation letter from your teacher.

And FightOn4SC, what program were you in? What tower/floor were you on?

psychology....pardee

what tower were you in??

iamrecognized basically said what i wanted to say, i took a Film and Digital Cinematography class there and ya they say it doesn't help but I bet it does, I am still in contact with my teacher and he wrote me a letter of rec and read over and revised my application essays for general admisssion and the film school, which was a really big help and not to mention pretty comforting. I say if you are really considering USC you should take a class there, the teachers are great, you learn a lot, you work hard, and you get to see what it's like to be a student, basically you'll fall in love :]

and it is nice to have a usc id card, i just used the same id for my application(you're already in their system etc.), plus it gets you discounts (my summer session friends and i got to go to the natural history museum for free with our ids, plus you get access to all the libraries, gym etc.)

FightOn4SC, I was in Mark's tower, second floor (the ones that got the water dumped on us from fourth floor). Yeah, that was like totally not our fault.

I dunno how long the card is good for to get discounts/library/gym/etc... but its fun to show off too. :)
