i don't really understand what this program is. i mean if you were to admit freshmen in the summer can't you just admit them during the fall? how does have summer freshmen keep UT less crowded?

ya I got accepted into the summer program, and i really don't understand the point of it either. and it sucks because right after you get out of school u go right back in...

It will very efficiently weed out those that don't belong in UT. If you can't pass the classes allotted to you in the summer, then you shouldn't be at UT. This also shys away those who don't REALLY want to go there.

Some people have good ranks, but are complete idiots.

mmmm, i thought the summer program might be a way to try to get ut to be less overcrowded. but, i guess i was wrong.

Well if they wanted to do that, they would just flat out reject you. This also gets UT more money, by forcing people to pay summer tuition and housing. Its all about the Benjamins.

Yeah. Basically it weeds out people who shouldn't really be at UT + gives UT a crapload of more money they don't even need.

I am trying to think of what I want to take. All I know is that I definitely want to start a bit easy then take some harder classes in the fall once I figure out how to study and stuff for college. Yeah. My friend is taking Chemistry this summer because she wants to get it out of theway. I told her good luck with that.

To be honest, I would take some classes that you might have already taken to boost your GPA. I am not exactly sure how cap works, but I bet that a high GPA will look good when you want to get into a college aside from liberal arts.
