Summer programs focusing on engineering, history, or politics?

I'm looking for summer programs focusing on engineering, history, or politics, preferably those with application due dates no earlier than mid-February.
Cost is a big issue. Programs over $2,000, especially if they are only a week or so in length are probably out of my range. I've been looking for a while and found the program at NCSU and one at Embry-Riddle. If you know of anything else, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Well, there is of course TASP, if you want to write your six essays and app in two days. That's sort of the gem of the summer programs, intended for the smart cookies. There's RSI as well, though, for even smarter cookies.

Have a look at the Columbia practorials. My sister did the chem one, didn't like it much, but loved the experience.

Yeah I already did my TASP app and sent it in, and well, I'm not feeling too hot about it anymore (reread my essays, they seem sorta crap). Thanks.
