Summer Programs for 2006?

Hi,

I appreciate the replies posted in the other thread I opened recently. This thread is to announce our summer program news, in hopes our son may run into another CC kid at his summer program. This year's program is the Ross Program

in mathematics at Ohio State University, which is about as old as I am. It's all number theory, all the time, for eight weeks. I recommend this program to other parents because it has good street cred among mathematicians and sufficient foundation support to offer generous financial aid. (List price is quite low to begin with.) This year the application process was fairly straightforward: a LOT of time thinking up answers for the application quiz questions, sending those in very close to the absolute deadline. Notification of program admission came very promptly, so there was only minimal suspense once the app was in the mail.

Where are the other CC kids going? Is anyone planning summer meet-ups with other CC parents?

Very good summer program. My kid was invited but he chose to go to HCSSiM and a research opportunity in MIT. In addition he has a conflict with JKC summer program. The people are very nice and accommodating.

I know few math stars that have attended this program. Good luck to your son. This program is an excellent choice for number theory. This program will help him in math competitions. Good luck :)

Thanks. I'll be interested to hear how HCSSiM was this summer.

No he did HCSSiM in 9th grade. This year he is to Boston

What is HCSSiM and what is JKC ?

HCSSiM

is the home of the yellow pigs and of the cult of the number seventeen. More seriously, it is a summer math program.
