Any Programs for a Middle Class (Can't spend more than $6000) interested in a politics program/course over the summer? I have seen that some of the deadlines for things like LEAD are coming up real soon and I'm not sure what I want to do - so far I'm thinking of;

JHU Summer Session
Columbia U. Summer Session,
Georgetown Summer Session
LEAD Institute
Political Internship? Not sure how to though

Junior Statesmen of America has some good programs, I'd love to go to them but the costs are too high for me (It is less than $6000), they have programs where you take AP or college classes at Yale, Princeton, Georgetown, or Stanford and also a symposium at the Democratic or Republican National Convention. I do not know about prestige or anything, but it looks pretty cool.

unfortunately, humanities programs tend to be pricey, unlike science programs which have a lot of federal research money and can be free. Google Congressional intern, or see if your state capital has an intern program.

Take classes at summer programs
JSA symposia or summer sessions
Work at a politician's office (state/US congressional representative/senator)
Congressional paige program
Volunteer with a candidate's presidential campaign

You should go to LEAD Program in business. It is a business program but it will teach you public speaking, networking, and people skills. You will get a lot better at working in a group and taking leadership. It is business focused but the skills are good for politicians.

My son will attend the Junior Statesmen Summer School at Georgetown this Summer. No one at school or in our community has heard of it. I would love some feedback!
