Summer programs for biomedical engineering

I am currently a junior in high school and I was wondering if anyone knew of any biomedical engineering summer programs. I was interested in the program at Columbia University, but I read in a post earlier that it was a complete waste of time and money. If my family was in a more stable financial situation, I could consider attending the program anyway, but my family simply can't afford to spend money on a program that I wouldn't benefit greatly from. I would really like to make the most of my summer and not only earn college credit, but learn more about the field and gain support for my high school resume. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Cornell's nanobiotechnology internships. It's a scholarship program and VERY competitive though, so you'll need other options.
