Summer Programs for mediocre students? Please help!

I'm not a genius, I'm a B level student in Honors Maths and Sciences. I'm also a junior, and i've taken pre calc and taking calc (I'd be surprised if I didn't get an A in Calc, but I got a C in pre calc, which is apparently what most people get, at least those who passed.) Alot of these summer programs have a limited amount of space with high requirements that I know just lesson my likelihood of admittance. And then the other summer programs want like 2000$. I can't afford that. So i'm taking my sat's in May (I honestly don't know if they take this into account) but at my progress, say I get between 1850-1950. What are some programs I can consider? And i'm willing to pay, just not more than 500$, hopefully.I'm not worried about the subject they revolve around, right now i'm just trying to get in one. Thanks, I'd really really appreciate some help.

UCONN has an Exploring Engineering program. It is for 4-5 nights and costs just about $500. My son went there a couple of summers ago. At that point he had a 1780 SAT score (eventually went up 200 points) and a B average. He is now a Mech Eng freshman at UCONN. http://www.engr.uconn.edu/engineering2000.php

I know that UMASS now offers similar program (they didn’t when my son was looking.) I believe it is longer than the UCONN program and costs more but I’m not sure of the price.

Thank you! The engineering one sounds okay, but engineering isn’t what i’m interested in,and the research requires a minimum age of 18. Thank you though! Any more suggestions from everybody else would be great, though.
