Hi, I was wondering if anyone could suggest some summer programs in Math or Physics. I would prefer one that doesn’t have an almost certain chance of acceptance if you are willing to pay the fee, and one where people are genuinely interested in the topic(s). I am the best in the grade at physics and am pretty good at precalc (both higher level IB). I am pretty well rounded, enjoy playing the violin and I have been teaching myself some programming. Thanks for whatever help you would be able to provide.
P.S. I am a junior, and internships would be great too.
Look at mysummeradvisor.com and look under academic programs. There is also an article about research opportunities. The ones at federal facilities, NASA, NIH, etc. may be for US citizens only.
Look at the Physics of Atomic Nuclei (PAN) program at both Michigan State and Notre Dame. Highly competitive, but free if you get accepted. My S attended summer before senior year and liked a lot. Don’t know when the deadline is - but if it hasn’t already passed, it is soon so you’ll need to hustle. If you’re interested in computer programming, iDtech has programs hosted at various universities across the country. Check them out.
