Hi, I'm a freshman in HS with heavy interests in physics. I don't have a lot of resources information wise and I would be grateful for any physics related summer programs and perhaps research opportunities. ( If it matters dream school = MIT)

The Summer Science Program (SSP) is a great one, and it sends TONS of people to MIT every year. It’s very heavily focused on astrophysics, along with calculus and computer science. It’s for rising juniors and seniors only, but it’s certainly a great goal to have in terms of summer programs! It’s quite selective though.

here’s the website: [SSP - Summer Science Program](http://www.summerscience.org)

It was the best 5.5 weeks of my life! :)

Thx… My main concern for these kinds of programs is that while my grades are good I’ve very weak EC’s. I do have some science related hobbies but I don’t have the resources to really peruse them. Do you know of any science programs in general for freshman and sophomores. Also… how much of calculus do you need to know when you apply?

Uh I mean you could find a few with some quick googling. As for calc, 2/3 of the people there had already learned some calc (either AB or BC) so use that for your judgement
