Hi,
Are there any summer programs that aren't very grades-based? For example, I heard that TASP mainly bases their admission on the essays.

I would prefer research programs as the majority of my ECs are science-based but I'd be open to any program suggestions.

Thanks!

Nearly every competitive program relies on grades in part. If you lack on that front, just emphasize your other strengths. Every competitive science research program will want a transcript of some sort.

Yes, but I don’t mean they discount grades completely. I just mean whether they don’t use grades as the most important. My grades are not extremely terrible, just wretched compared to most other people on CC.

(As long as there aren’t too many B’s and any C’s) Grades aren’t the most important for any science research program (RSI, Simons, etc.). In my opinion, acceptance largely rests on your essays, recommendations, and then EC’s achievements.

Okay, thanks. By the way, have you been to any science research program?

bump…?
any other opinions?

I doubt grades are the most important criteria for any summer program. At most summer programs will care about grades in whatever subject the program is.
