Does anyone know about SAMS in Carneige Melon? It's free and seems selective, but not many people recommend it. how's that? Thanks!

I don't think prestige is the biggest factor on the college application, rather what you gained from your experience is what matters. Everyone has a different experience and learn various things from the programs they attended and colleges recognize this. Of course some programs are more selective than others, but if you can share your experience in-depth, you should be fine.

WAIT. why is CTY bad for your application. what if you apply for financial aid or something. (that doesnt really show that your rich). i was going to apply. but im not sure, and does anyone know who teaches these programs. it better be the actual professors from the universities.

CTY definitely has financial aid, and that should be well known to college admission officers. CTY courses are not necessarily taught by professors from famous universities.

heard of GYLC? (Global Youth Leaders Conference) i'm not sure if it's any prestigious/selective

If you live in CA, CSSSA is great (aka Innerspark) government sponsored, knowledgeable professors. Highly selective one-month residential film program. Work with Super 8, focal length, direct animation, 16 mm film, FCutPro, pro. actors and screenwriters.

has anyone heard anything about washington journalism and media conference at george mason?

im completely aware that most of these camps are scams made to steal money from children whose egos are stroked by saying you are the best and brightest... but this one sounds interesting... anyone heard of it?

What kinds of things should I look into if I am geared towards journalism/writing? I want to go to the Asian-American Journalism Camp in Boston this summer, although I don’t know how “prestigious” it is – does anybody know about this? Or any other programs I should look into?

what do you know about LEAD?

Are there any good business/economics programs with admission still open? Or maybe any programs in general that seem interesting?

Ditto above.Any good math/engineering programs. Would do promys but a fried said it was not that fun, so looking at other options

I was looking into PROMYS also. What did your friend not like about it?
