My daughter was recently accepted into a very nice academic summer program called Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics. This is a free, but very nice summer program that has a competitive admissions process. It's a great honor for her to be accepted. She will attend one of 6 of our State Universities for a 4 week program where they will have "intensive studies in the field of their interest....." but yet will have social and extracurricular activities as well.

We are very excited to have her be accepted and she is excited too. We will have a hard time doing without her home for so long (especially since she is also going away to a residential HS for her junior and senior year at the end of the summer....another great accomplishment.)

My question is....for you that have had your child go, was the summer program a good experience for them? I have heard nothing but great things about this program, but how did your child do? What type of program did they go to?

I would love to have your feedback.
