hi all! you all seem to know so much about summer research opportunities and summer medical programs. i know it's sad, but all the information i gain is researched on my own and i really dont know where to start looking on this topic:( i'm currently a high school senior and will have graduated by this summer. i'd like to take part in some sort of medical summer program, preferably in texas or its neighboring states. thanks in advance for your replies!

This site might help you:

Scroll all the way to the bottom - "Other Texas Summer Programs"
Some of them are for college students only, but you might find one that suits you. Good luck!

thanks alot!

i suggest lookin into the NIH [national institutes of health]... they gave great programs... in like, EVERYTHING... u prolly will have to go away from home... but its a great opportunity... if ur smart... u should get in... nd they give u a stipend... just an idea

Does anyone know of programs in Florida? Thanks

Any programs in California?

macantu17, i think it's too late for summer programs for you now, deadline-wise, sorry. Actually, I'm sorry for myself too, if I had searched more about summer programs, I could have probably applied to them. Are you in MedED? I'm waiting on the cancer research opportunity at MD Anderson, but there's other ones, just search "high school summer medical research"

yup im in med/ed. i applied for nih but everything depends on what programs i get into to start working on my summer schedule.

did u go to that recent trip to SAN ANTONIO?

no i was in a wedding that week.
