Summer reading anyone?

Does anyone else have a summer reading list? I just started making mine and am curious about what everyone else would be reading :) Here's a list of my top picks:

Julie and Julia
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
The Bell Jar
Chaos Walking Series
- Knife of Never Letting Go (reread)
- The Ask and the Answer
- Monsters of Men
The Pact (reread)
The Lovely Bones
Flowers for Algernon
Cat's Cradle
Slaughterhouse 5
Breakfast of Champions

I already have 24 books in my to-read pile, but I particularly want to read:

A Tale of Two Cities
Requiem (Delirium)
Atonement
The Great Gatsby (and then I can watch the film!)
Ender’s Game
The Cousin’s War series
To Kill a Mockingbird
Le Morte d’Arthur
The Bane Chronicles
The Lord of the Rings trilogy

Well, I have to read Into the Wild for AP Lang, but I’ve finished it already…

I am planning on reading a lot this summer:

[ul][]The Catcher in the Rye
[]Fahrenheit 451
[]Flyboys
[]Making the Corps
[]With the Old Breed
[]Lord of the Flies
[/ul]

Well, I’d really like to finish “The Tin Drum” (I’ve been reading it off-and-on for more than a year). Other than that, I’m interested in reading “The Sea-Wolf” (huge Jack London fan) and “Gone With the Wind”

I’m going to catch up on the “A Song of Ice and Fire” (Game of Thrones) series.

As gay as it sounds, I started on the Twilight series and didn’t even read “Breaking Dawn” so I might just read that. Though the series really bored me.

I’ll probably re-read the Harry Potter series for the 102nd time.

Whenever the new Kingkiller Chronicles book comes out I’m definitely going to read that.

Re: Gone With the Wind…haha I read that huge book in 3 days last year when I was really sick with the flu…I didn’t feel like doing anything else…I sat in the same spot for pretty much the whole week and just read.

For School:
The Things They Carried
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time
Independent:
Lord of the Rings
My Sister’s Keeper
The Assistant
House of Spirits
One Hundred Years of Solitude
A Splendid Thousand Suns

@Secoja The Doors of Stone is probably coming out in 2014 :)

@Jawmess I think you mean *A Thousand Splendid Suns :)

I loved Hitchhiker’s Guide  I’ld make my own reading list, but I don’t think I’ll have time this summer :/

I’m not good at following lists so I usually don’t make them. It makes the reading seem too much like homework.

Im afraid I won’t have a lot of time either :frowning: but it’s nice to just think of what I would be reading if I did x)

I have to reread The Book Thief for school (no problem because it’s one of my favorite books), and then I have a crapload of other books that have been sitting in my room for a year that I should probably get to.

Books I’ve already purchased but have yet to actually read:
Waiting for Snow in Havana
The Sun Also Rises (holla at me my fellow AcaDeca competitors!)
Tenth of December
Leaving the Atocha Station
Devil in the White City
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius

I also need to pick up Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer, but the list above should have me set for a while.

Reading List:

I’m reading all of Hermann Hesse. And Dan Brown’s Inferno.

Haha, really? How so? I’ve heard the opposite.

I plan to read The “Gone” Series, Insurgent which has been sitting on my shelf for forever, and I will probably reread Harry Potter and The Mortal Instruments for the 1,00th time.

DON’T READ THE CHAOS WALKING SERIES. Sorry for the all caps, but it’s a terrible series, and you’ll regret wasting your time by reading it.

^My 11 year old brother has just read them, and he would disagree with you.

I also wouldn’t recommend the Gone series. Way way way too long, becomes more far fetched and unbelievable every book, and excessively gory. I only read the first one, but it is another favourite of my little brother.

Actually, I’ve already read the first one and part of the second in the Chaos Walking series and thought that they were pretty good
