Post your Summer Reading Here:

It’s just World Literature Honors: A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens

I might have to read Multivariable Calculus by James Stewart. Not sure though, it depends on Financial Aid.

We haven’t gotten our summer reading list yet for AP English.

I read A Tale of Two Cities in 9th, I think that was a little to early to read to appreciate the book.

For AP English Language and Composition:

Angela’s Ashes

The Color of Water

Hiroshima

And with each book we have to write an associated essay with it. A friend told me we also have to write 10 journal entries for each one, but it didn’t mention any of that on the letter we got for the class so I’m not even gonna bother doing it.

I have to read “Gifted Hands”. Well my school just ended and I am already dying to start reading that book. It just sounds so great!

Jasmine by Bharati Mukherjee and The Bonesetter’s Daughter by Amy Tan

Ulysses and Finnegan’s Wake. I’m excited.

Nothing I’ve heard of so far.

My school has some really extensive summer reading. For AP English Language I have:
-Savage Inequalities by Kozol
-Ella Minow Pea by Dunn (this book doesn’t sound too legit)
-The Catcher in the Rye
For APUSH I have:
-The Grapes of Wrath
-The Feminine Mystique
-Silent Spring
-Alas, Babylon
-March by Brooks

I’m not sure I’ll even get it all done considering I’ve also got 3 chapters of stats, 4 chapters of APUSH, a college class, and an internship, but whatever, I’ll fit it in.

^Good lord…I’d die. You have to read all of those? Jesus.

I understand the AP Lang, that’s a normal load.

But I only had APUSH summer work, as in, doing the first few chapters in the workbook, a few essays, and such, not extensive reading.

The only books my class read were How the Other Half Lives,The Jungle, The Killer Angels, and Uncle Tom’s Cabin. And all of those were for extra credit…

I can’t imagine having to read all of those books. Some of them are pretty lengthy and complex.

For AP Lit I only have:
Mythology by Hamilton
Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns
Frankenstein by Mary Shelly

Plus some study questions.

However, I will be tested on all of these books, so I need to read them well.

Alas, Babylon lol why read that for APUSH? I read it, good book, but seriously that’s pointless.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha. For IB English we have like these 3 gigantic books…which I havent even looked at, urgh.
And for AP Lit all we had to do was read Crime and Punishment. But most teachers give you a month/a few weeks at the beginning of the year to do it, yea?

Ap Lit: The Sun Also Rises- Hemingway
The Age of Innoce- Edith Wharton
Max PErkins (biography of an editor which we are tested on heavily for some reason).

AP Macro- Moneyball

Themed Read (chose 1 of 5 books about cloning)- Aldous Huxley

Learn integrals for Physics C, big review packet for French, finish science research project.

Fahrenheit 451 along with a History packet.

I’m not even done with school yet, so I haven’t gotten my list yet. I might actually read a couple for a change, since I *very rarely/I read books, which isn’t helping my comprehension skills too much.

Also I lol’d at this:

I wasn’t aware that history classes assigned books to read, let alone more than AP english…

For AP Literature, I have to read Invisible Man by … Arthur Miller? IDK… :)

And I have to write my college essay for that class, weird huh?

And read some other thingg…

Of Mice and Men.
The Glass Menagerie.
The Scarlet Letter.
The Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass.

Summer assignments for all, plus a report on Mice and Men.

Oh, I have to do all of second year Latin if that counts…

With that, I’m going to die.
