I HATE doing some tedious and pointless project though! I just started working on it and it's gonna take me forever to finish. I still have to finish the third book as well. And I start school on the 19th. ARGH stupid AP English

Lol, I feel the same way. I have 1.8 more books to finish for English, don’t feel too bad. Plus, like 10 hours moer for science. Why? Why do they bury us in work! :0

Good luck and best wishes this school year! :)

I had four books to read this summer and I’ve finished them, however, I just found out yesturday that I need to write reviews for two of them, make an author profile for book 1 or 2, write one 8.000 words essay about what people can learn from one of the authors in book 3 or 4, and on top of that, an 8 pages essay about counterterrorism.
All bye wednesday.

I probably wont have to turn it in until the end of the week though, considering it was their screwup.

i feel so sorry for those of you who have to read more than one book hahahahahah
I only had to pick one… so I narrowed down the list to two interesting books, then picked the one with the biggest font / the smallest number of pages.
I’m only on page 100 though out of 280 :/

The books they pick at my school are some lame.

I have to answer a five question quiz, which I don’t have to really give details on, and the quiz is the same for all four books. Therefore none of the questions are specific to the book and spark notes is, indeed, ftw.

I haven’t started yet. I have to read a bunch of short stories (well, one is 40 pages long so it isn’t too short, the rest I’m assuming are really short) and two plays. For AP Gov. I have to read a book and three chapters of the text book. And AP Bio is…horrible. I couldn’t even read one sentence and I think I need to read six chapters.

I don’t necessarily mind the English and History ones, as long as they don’t get ridiculous. I do mind science and any other subject that tries to give summer work. It’s just too much to think about during the summer.

My personal opinion on this is that you pay for school during the SCHOOL YEAR. Summer is your BREAK FROM SCHOOL. I think the teachers job is to fit the material into the school year.

I still have 2 weeks till school (I could sworn it was 3 just yesterday) - on a brighter note, today’s my last day of volunteer (which I LOVE), but I lose too many hours from actually working.

I had 10 chapters to cover for AP Bio (and hand it various interactive quizzes/tests and LABS!! - I’m down to my last chapter
I also have a paper due on something-something for my history class
I have a seemingly boring book to read for Bio (write summaries per chapters)

– Sucks, for the last 4 or 5 summers I was always bombarded with homework (and I’m not talking about read 1 book and summarize it), I literally had massive projects and assignments per every darn subject, I tell you. From construction, papers, models that never stay intact, experiments, family trees that never seem to end, more books, more summaries, presentations, etc - you name it - I’ve done it,

I think the worst was the summer before my sophomore year, just for the history assignment. I forget the book we had to read, but nobody read it. And as far as I remember the essay was to recount the history we’d learned so far…

I still have to work on my summer reading too. Three books, all of which have to be annotated with Post-its. I’ve read two of the three, but haven’t started annotating.

I have one little book on like, grammar and writing to read and that’s pretty much it; but since it’s simply “reading,” no need to do it…luckily I have less summer homework as a junior with 5 AP’s this year as opposed to last year with 1 AP/3 honors, not that I ever did it but anyways.

I am 1/4 of the way through one of my books and still have to start up another one. I also still have 8 chapters of Latin to do and 2 chapters of AP Chem work. Luckily, I still have 2 or so weeks. I am sorry for everyone else who starts school so early.
