Summer Reading List

Are there and English Majors who know what books are on the English curriculum syllabus or where to get a list? Do they generally change year to year?

I'm an English major, cl. The books that will be read for each class vary by professor. There is no giant course syllabus for the English major. Instead, teachers will put out their own on the first day of classes, and your books will be on there. Before that, you will be able to go on to uscbookstore.com and look at the book listing for each of your classes. This isn't posted yet, but will be closer to the beginning of school. Before each semester, however, to help with registration, the English dept puts out a packet with each prof's description of their class and many say what books will be covered. If you want to give me names of the classes you are taking and who the professors are, I can probably tell you some of the books to expect.

My son is taking Beckett & theater with LLoyd and Mythology with I don't know who. I don't think he had a big choice at orientation - most of the classes were filled and/or he had schedule conflicts.

Thank you USChicka for all the help you give!

No problem, I'm glad to help!

Unfortunately those classes aren't in the English major, so I can't help this time (the packet that lists books for classes has only English courses)! I think someone added here that booklists will be posted on Aug. 8th on the bookstore website.
