there's no summer reading, is there?

You'll get an email about some articles you're supposed to read. It's really short (~10-20 pages?), and for this discussion you have during freshman week with a faculty member. In my discussion, it was pretty clear no one had done much of the reading, and it was a pretty low key environment.

And when are we supposed to get this email?

They may or may not be doing it this year. It might come in the July mailing, or you might not get it until you get to Harvard. Not something to worry about at all, just a few short stories.

"In August, freshmen will receive information from the College about
special programming on Tuesday, September 12. On that day, all
members of the Class meet in small groups with faculty to discuss
assigned readings. The information which you receive from the College
will include the readings which we ask that all members of the Class
complete before their arrival in Cambridge."

The readings will also be distributed online, and when you get to Cambridge.

there you go
