Summer Reading

Does UT have summer reading assignments? I heard from people in other colleges getting summer reading books/materials. Does UT require students to read something particular over the summer?

They can’t give you a summer reading assignment until you register for classes. After you register, your professor may contact you and send you reading for the first class, but this is highly unusual–usually you don’t even need the textbooks for the first week of class.

Oh OK, thanks.

There is a voluntary Freshman Reading Roundup the day before classes begin.

You pick a session now according to the book you’d like to read (or the professor you’d like to meet) and have a short book discussion on Aug.25.
