Anyone planning on attending any of the summer receptions for incoming students and families? Or for current PC students/families did u attend one the summer before you enrolled? Was it worthwhile? Just wondering if we should try and squeeze one in to our already jam packed summer schedule. Thought appreciated.

Speaking as a Mom of a Brown '01 student who attended their version of same, go to yours! You will meet some students from your area who will be going to the school, and begin to make some acquaintances—perhaps they will wind up being friends & perhaps not, but you at least get some leads as to rides home for Thanksgiving.

Depending on the school, these things can have some alums from your area present—they are there to welcome you to the school’s “family” & begin your network of people from the school that will become your alma mater. Don’t forget, God willing, you will be an alum of the place for many many more years than you will be a student!

We attended Villanova’s last summer-- it was very fun and helped both S & parents get excited for the school.
