Has anyone completed registration yet? Did you get classes and times you wanted or did you have to make big changes to your preplanned schedule?

Just curious how smoothly it goes. I'm in computer engineering and wonder whether people are getting into ECE110 and or getting RHET105 for Fall. If you don't have calculus (MATH220) can you even get into ECE110?

Login, go to Registration and Records --> Registration --> Lookup or select classes

If it's got a C on the left, it's full. SR means it's open but you don't have rights to select it yet. I didn't do my registration homework beforehand, but when I picked classes, I was pretty much free to pick whatever classes I wanted no problem, very few were full at that point. This was June 7th though, 2nd day, so I don't know about when you get there.

RHET 105 for Fall or Spring is entirely dependent on your UIN #. I believe if the last digit is even, you have fall Rhet, otherwise you have spring Rhet. I'm a nuc E, so I can't really answer other question about calc though. Sorry :-/

marchguy, don't know about international students but I received a Network ID # and password by mail with instructions to log onto www.istart.uiuc.edu and do the tutorial "homework" in preparation for summer registration.

As trackstar777 said, he didn't really need it.

You can do your prep for registering before you come for the orientation program but you actually register during that program. Also, Marchguy, you need to be aware that the later you register (do the orientation session), the greater the risk that you may find desired courses closed at the times you want and your August date is the latest orientation session.

trackstr my not have needed it but a lot of people do. There are so many lost freshmen here that can't be helped it's unbelievable. There are too little OSLs doing useful things to help freshmen that need it. So please be prepared.

Yea, I like to think of myself as quite adept with a computer, so I was able to formulate a schedule I like quickly and easily. If you aren't very good with a computer, or don't have a clear-cut plan of how you want to arrange your classes, you could be here for hours trying to figure out what you're taking when.

For the "Dept" column, you just type in the department abbreviation in CAPS based on the course catalog abbreviations. The "Course #" is self-explanatory.
