sophomore bme student going to grad school eventually and then hopefully biotech industry

I have a choice to make for this summer - any advice on what to take? Which one will probably be a better experience/more selective?

Harvard-MIT HST Summer Institute on Biomedical Optics

OR

NIH Summer Internship Program in Bethesda working on a biomaterials/drug delivery project

Well, I’m assuming you’ve already applied for both because the deadlines are way past.

I think Harvard-MIT is more educational, while NIH is more hands-on. You get paid for the latter, as well.

I think the most important point is, however, that you pick the program that most interests you. Do you want to work in biomedical optics, or would you prefer working on a drug delivery project?

Btw, this is in the wrong forum. This “Summer Programs” subforum is under the “Pre-College Issues” section.
