Summer Research Programs

Hey Fellow CCer's,

I have been trying to find some summer research programs for sophomores and higher. I was wondering which programs are actually prestigious and which aren't. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this. Just put the name and the URL and hopefully I can find one that I can enjoy.

Thanks.

Try posting this in the Summer Programs forum. This doesn’t have much relevance to Harvard…

SIMR at stanford. It’s the best biology/medical research program. I did it this year and it’s really difficult to be accepted (3%). But it’s totally worth it. At least 4-5 people make it to intel semifinalist round and 1 or 2 will make it to finalist. On top of that you can get a recommendation from a professor which really helps for college admissions.

Well depends what you’re looking for. It looks more prestigious to go to a program that you have to qualify for rather than pay. The USA Math Olympiad Camp, USA Chemistry Olympiad Camp, USA Physics Olympiad Camp, the Research Science Institute (RSI) are just about the most prestigious of these qualification based programs.

TASP is also good.

Isn’t Simr for the underrepresented races?

Look at TTU’s Clark Scholars program.
