Summer School At Harvard

I'm an international university student applying for the summer school program at Harvard, but I'm a little confused as to how many courses to apply for. According to the site I need at least 8 credits to qualify for a visa, but I was considering doing an introductory econ 8-credit course and then possibly 1 or 2 more 4-credit ones. The timetables don't clash but I'm not sure if the workload would be too heavy/it's allowed.

Basically, are you meant to apply for only one course at Harvard Summer School provided you reach 8 credits? Apologies if it's an obvious question - I'm new to the whole American education system! :)

Each course is 4 credits and you can take a maximum of 8 credits.

Maximum enrollment
Your final enrollment cannot be more than 8 credits for undergraduate or graduate credit. If you are a student in the general program, you may enroll in an additional 4 credits for noncredit. Secondary School Program students: enrolling in classes for noncredit is not an option. IEL intensive program students: enrolling in more than 8 credits is not an option.

Thanks  Just to clarify, then, can I not take an extra 4-credit course for noncredit, or would I not be considered as studying for the general program?

The.general program is for degree bound students, so no, you cannot take more than 8 credits.
