Summer college/dorms: these rotate every year, dep. which ones are avail (not undergoing regularly scheduled renovations), anticipated sizes of summer student population etc.
You do not have a choice on which college to stay at.
Also other programs utilize Yale colleges, such as Junior Statesman, so college residences are allocated for different programs.

Generally have heard very positive responses from kids who took the summer program.
Some instructors (usually grad students) aren't that stellar; some faculty are outstanding.
Except to work hard for a good grade though, it's not a summer camp!

I attended Yale Summer B last summer and it was the best time of my life.
Summer A is mainly college students, last year we stayed in Stiles, and both of my professors were great. Also, do the trips on the weekends if you go.

hey, i just attended summer session B this summer and it was a really great experience. We also stayed in Stiles, the "ugly" college, but trust me its a lot better than many other places I've seen. If you go, choose your classes wisely, although you can change during the first week. I really loved the Political Science class I took, Crime and Punishment, which was taught by the same proffessor who teaches the course during the year. My other class, Introductory Microeconomics, wasn't as enthralling and the professor was definitely a grad student, but I still found it interesting. Be ready to work hard (I had to pull a few all-nighters), but also to have fun and meet great people.

Despite the Stiles "architecture",
its location was great though:
across the street from Payne Whitney Gym
and adjacent to the Yale Bookstore (run by B&N).

Also many spacious singles & walk-in closets, if that's what one prefers.
